After much anticipation viewers can begin: initial five minutes of Stranger Things 5 shared.
The fifth installment of the platform's supernatural phenomenon Stranger Things is set to be among the most anticipated shows of 2024. Part one debuts on November 27, but a sneak peek of the chilling initial moments has been shared online.
The Beginning: A Return to the show's origins
The segment, named the prologue, takes fans back to the start of the story in the early '80s, in the wake of the disappearance of Will Byers.
"Do I remain or leave?" he vocalizes while attempting to stay collected in the Upside Down.
Things quickly become terrifying when a monstrous creature emerges and drags Will to the stronghold of the villain. "After all this time, our work can start," he says to Will while shooting a plant-like appendage down his throat. "We together, we shall create truly magnificent things in unison."
Broadcast Dates and Big Screen Events
The concluding half of the final series is scheduled to premiere on Boxing Day, with the series finale released on New Year's Day – which will also be presented in select movie theaters.
Story Outline
The synopsis explains: "The fall of 1987. The town is damaged by the opening of dimensional tears, and the main characters come together by one objective: hunt down and destroy Vecna. Yet his location is unknown – his whereabouts and schemes unknown. Making more difficult the task, the government has enforced the community under military quarantine and stepped up the pursuit for Eleven, pushing her to go underground. While the anniversary of the event looms, so does an intense, recognizable anxiety. The ultimate conflict is approaching – and with it, a malevolence mightier and more lethal than all they have battled in the past. To conclude this nightmare, it will take everyone – the full party – standing together, for the final time."
Creator Comments
The unexpected preview was uploaded on the video platform after the series' Hollywood event a few days ago, which was attended by the stars like Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour.
"The size of this installment is larger … It features heightened thrills and enhanced CGI, however it's also easily the most poignant season because it concludes of the story for all of these characters," the series' co-creator, commented about the last chapters.
The other creator and collaborator, remarked: "Bringing it out in the world is anxiety-inducing, but we are prepared to finally show it."
