Check out 29 Fresh Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Including a Commander Precon Deck!)
Everyone's favorite pizza-eating superheroes are arriving to the popular trading card game. The well-known trading card game's publisher, the game's creators, unveiled a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special event held at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical new set or yet another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.
Take a look here at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, along with some useful background. All items listed here releases on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27th.
Magic x TMNT: Core Set Reveals
Before we get into the many special decks and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.
Let's unpack a few shell-shocking details. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, where players can play powerful creatures into the battlefield when an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The big difference here is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. The designers also used this chance to refine the ability a little (It is treated as casting, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but chances are players will encounter the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.
Should we go back to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability since that plane is it was developed and it’s a hallmark to that,” a senior designer explained. “But on other planes, because the rules are cleaner and the new ability will be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”
Another version of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with unique artwork designed specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist Kevin Eastman.
Additionally, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. But as per the developers, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.
Anyway, below are the highly unusual full-art lands from this set:
As per Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers say they took care to ensure the cards and gameplay elements meshed well with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.
“I led the development for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and what other sets were going to be near it in Standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”
As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet archetype built around artifacts.
“They combine to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard deck,” the designer says.
Commander Deck: Turtle Power
After declining to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only a single precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your commander based on how you pair them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone rather than just one). Take a look for yourself:
This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise due to popularity. Sources told that it contains 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional 37 Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Calculating roughly, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon comes with 37 lands.)
How will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? Fans must wait and see.
TMNT Bundle (Regular)
Typically, Wizards is selling a bundle. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the listed items:
- 9 Play Boosters
- 15 Foil basic lands
- 15 Non-foil land cards
- 2 Reference cards

Pizza-Themed Bundle
Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza box. Each pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the following:
- 9 Standard Boosters
- One Collector Booster
- Twenty-five Regular pizza lands
- 5 Traditional foil pizza basic lands
- Two Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
- 2 Reference cards
- One Oversized spindown life counter
- 1 Card-storage box
If you’re wondering what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprint of an older card featuring brand-new TMNT artwork. Wizards revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces on a pizza slice. In total, there are six different pizza promos available.
This special bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the core set on March 27, 2026.
Draft Bundle
This special bundle is made for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. That will get you:
- Twelve Standard Boosters (ideal for a group of four to draft)
- 1 Collector Booster (also known as, the prize for coming in first)
- Ninety Regular basic lands (to build your draft deck)
- Ten Regular double-sided tokens
- 1 drafting guide (a single-page guide to drafting the set)
Cooperative Play Set
Lastly, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to develop Magic game products specifically for new players. Here, the cooperative set is a unique product of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.
The general idea here that each Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures included in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card per turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
