Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
