Hulu is Producing a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest Far Cry instalment that players dived into was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for embracing violence and mayhem with equal glee, all while weaving captivating, politically driven narratives. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two producers whose projects have embodied all of those things.

About the Series

Based on Ubisoft's successful video game property, the self-contained anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' style by featuring a new setting and cast of characters in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series under their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also appear in the show, but as of now, we do not know what part that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, placing faith in us with one of the most famous video-game realms ever created. And through it all, my FX team always encourages me with their steady confidence and assistance.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style program. Each game is a variation of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a story,” explained Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can change from season to season, while always exploring the essence of humanity through this multifaceted and unpredictable viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to collaborate with Rob and present our common irreverent, visionary approach to the television.”

A release window for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
