Two Men Formally Indicted with Prison Murder of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

Two individuals now face murder charges after the incarceration fatality of ex-Lostprophets frontman and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) have both been charged with murder and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per police authorities.

Watkins, 48, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes including the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were seized.
